Property description
Situation
The charming town of Ammeldingen an der Our is located in Sout-Eifel, on the Luxembourg border. This old toll house is situated on the bank of the beatiful, wild Our River. The apartments are nestled quietly on the slopes, close to the Vianden tourist spot. The area surrounding the apartments consists of astonishing woods and is suited for cozy walks and fantastic bicycle trips. Along the Our River you can find magnificent spots where you can relax and enjoy the lovely surroundings. There are good ski slopes located just 40km away.
Restaurant opening times: usually from Easter - from Wednesday to Monday open from November to 31th of December and from Ash Wednesday to Easter from Friday until Sunday. From 1st of January until Ash Wednesday, the restaurant is closed. (An exception is made for 2013- thew restaurant is closed until 28th of February.) The exact opening times are to be known- after consultation with the owner or on-site.
Interior
The Wieringa holiday home is a former toll house which now contains five large, completely furnished apartments. This 5-person apartment has a comfortably furnished living room with a TV, radio and CD-player. The completely equipped open kitchen has a microwave, refrigerator, freezer, dishwasher and coffeemaker. In front of the apartment complex lies a large garden with a terrace and outdoor furniture. There is plenty of parking for guests. There's a bar on the ground floor of the building adjacent to the terrace in the garden. Here you can have breakfast in our private restaurant, where you can also enjoy a bite to eat or a drink throughout the day. You can make use of the breakfast service, enjoy a cold beer or an “á la carte” meal.
Surroundings
You will find everything you need in close proximity to Anmeldingen. From your apartment you have a gorgeous view of the mountainous landscape and the wild Our River. In the winter the snow-covered surroundings are truly amazing. The towns of Diekirch, Ettelbruck, Echternach and Bitburg are about 25km away. These are definitely worth a visit. The South Eifel region is known for its beautiful “Gaytallpark” nature park in Körperich and the famous “little Switzerland of Luxembourg”. Mullerthal as well as the Ferschweiler plateau are only 15km away. Nature lovers, hikers, bikers and even mountain climbers will find plenty of opportunities to pursue their favorite hobbies. Pamper yourself in the swimming hall, take a ride on the cable car or visit one of the world famous Vianden castles – there are endless ways to spend your holiday. Canoeing and fishing under the picturesque cliffs can be the highlight of your holiday. For day trips we suggest a short visit to the city of Luxembourg or the shopping city of Trier, one of the oldest towns in Germany, founded by the ancient Romans.
