Winter in Randa
Two skilifts, well-maintained ski slopes and tended cross-country ski runs as well as walks on prepared hiking trails make Randa a very inviting destination for a carefree winter holiday in Valais. Due to its proximity to Zermatt, everything you require is close by - from Switzerland's longest ski run (22 km) to wide carving runs and mogul piste galore - it's all there, nothing missing. And let's not forget: the skiing area extends as far as Bella Italia!
Summer in Randa
The choice of recreational activities in and around Randa in summer is large: Walk through blooming mountain meadows and pristine high forests, go on a glacier crossing tour, ascend to new heights on an alpine mountain tour or simply enjoy the tranquility and beauty of the Alps. Due to its proximity to Zermatt, in Randa you benefit from the hiker's paradise around the Matterhorn. Some 400 km of hiking trails around Zermatt are there for you to explore. Hike through fragrant stone pine forests, along a glacier and past romantic mountain lakes you can swim in and on whose surface the unmistakable peak of the Matterhorn is reflected. Mountain cableways facilitate the ascent to higher areas.
Arrival
Randa can be reached by car in about 2 hours from Bern, for example, via Kandersteg - Lötschberg tunnel - Goppenstein - Gampel - Visp - Stalden.
The journey to or from Randa is always a very special experience in summer, particularly when travelling by car over the Brünig, Grimsel or Furka mountain passes along the Rhone Glacier.
Randa is just as easily reached from the west as from the north. The Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) have regular direct connections to the Matterhorn Gotthard Railways (MGB). It is about a one-hour train ride through the romantic Matter Valley to Randa.
