Urlaub im Bayerischen Wald
Der Naturpark Bayerischer Wald gilt als eines der letzten Reservate wildwüchsiger und urtümlicher Natur. Dieses im Südosten der Bundesrepublik gelegene Waldgebiet wird im Süden von der Donau begrenzt. Im Nordosten gehen seine Ausläufer in Tschechien und Österreich zum Böhmerwald über, während sich der Naturpark im Nordwesten im Oberpfälzer Wald weiterhin erstreckt. Seine höchste geographische Erhebung ist mit 1.456 Metern der Große Arber bei Bayerisch Eisenstein. Mit seiner Fläche von rund 307.700 Hektar besticht das Mit-telgebirge in Ostbayern durch seine zum Teil urwaldartige Schönheit, die sich vor allem aus Buchen, Tannen und Fichten zusammensetzt. Einsame Seen, kleine malerische Kirchdörfer, Burgen und Schlösser sind eingebettet in eine sanfte Hügellandschaft, welche dazu beitragen, dass der Bayerische Wald mit zu einem der beliebtesten Urlaubsregionen der Nation zählt.
Je weiter Sie sich gen Osten nähern, erheben sich die Berge immer höher, die Wälder werden immer dichter und die Besiedlung wird mit rund 98 Einwohnern pro qkm immer spärlicher. Es handelt sich um ein uraltes Mittelgebirge, das im Jahre 1970 zum ersten deutschen Nationalpark der Bundesrepublik erklärt wurde.
