Ausflugsmöglichkeit nach Salzburg(20km) oder München(150km). In nächster Umgebung sind im Winter die bekannten Skigebiete Götschen, Hochschwarzeck, Jenner und Roßfeld. Eine Fahrt über den Königssee ist zu jeder Jahreszeit ein Erlebnis. Im Winter kann man am Hintersee im Nationalpark die Wildfütterung besuchen. Bei schlechtem Wetter locken das Salzbergwerk, die Eislaufhalle oder Watzmanntherme.
