There are numerous National Trust properties to enjoy in the locality. Picturesque Cranbrook with its famous Union Windmill, shops, banks, pubs and sports centre and the delightful country town of Tenterden with antique shops, tea-rooms, restaurants, pubs, the Kent & East Sussex steam Railway and Leisure Centre are both a short distance away. Ideal for both sightseeing and shopping are the historic towns of Tunbridge Wells, the Cathedral city of Canterbury and the cinque port of Rye. Gardener's Cottage enjoys privacy at the far end of the Manor House.
