IN THE VERY NEAR OF THE HOUSE is located the 'Provincial domain of LIPPENSGOED-BULSKAMPVELT' (free entrance) the biggest in West-Flanders (220 ha) where you can take fine detailed walks. There is also a garden with 400 species of medicinal herbs and a farmyard with several old races of hens.

IF YOU DON'T FEEL TO DO THE COOKING: in the settlement of "Wildenburg" (at 1,5 km from the house)there are 3 family-restaurants (cheap prices).
FOR A GASTRONOMIC DINNER BY CANDLELIGHT you just have to walk 800 metres. "Manderley" is the name of a high quality restaurant in the vicinity of the cottage.
A ROMANTIC WALK IN BRUGGE, the "Venice of the North"? Of course, yes! Discover its canals, its small medieval alleys and marvellous historic buildings. Top is the church of Our Lady, with its Michelangelo statue and thirteenth-century tombs. Even more romantic is the discouvery of the small medieval town of DAMME.
Or, instead of Brugge and Damme, a heart-rending trip to the battle-fields of YPRES and its war museum. It takes only half an hour to reach the proud city of GENT.
CATCH THE SUN AT THE SEA-SIDE. The cities of Knokke and Oostende are located at 30 KM. Knokke and Oostende are real shopping paradises. Even on Sunday, first class shops are open.
