This is ideal walking country with many footpaths adjacent and within a short drive are many historic houses, gardens, National trust and English Heritage properties including Sissinghurst Gardens, Penshurst Place, Hever and Leeds Castles, Bewl Water for fishing, cycling and watersports and the Kent & East Sussex Steam Railway. Only half a mile distant lies the ancient village of Goudhurst with its pond, small shops, tea-rooms, pubs and restaurants. Tunbridge Wells and Maidstone are approximately 12 miles away and Ashford, now with a new designer shopping centre and the Eurotunnel terminal is 20 miles away. Main line station at Marden is only 4 miles distant for trains to London. Blackthorn Barn is accessed by a private drive with ample parking beside the property.
