The Village Mata Encantada is situated on the outskirts of Santo André, a small part of the Santa Cruz Cabrália community, about 30km (19 miles) north o Porto Seguro in southern Bahia.

"Mata Encantada" means "enchanted forest". Our resort does not apply this name without reason. Imbedded in a original forest with direct access to the beach, there is a comfortable house awaiting our guests. The 15,000m² (3.7 acres) large and fenced-in Village Mata Encantada consist grossly of original rain forest and ancient trees. The house has an own garden area of approx. 800m² (8,600 square foot)with lawn and blooming flowers.

The land plot lies in the nature reserve "APA Santo Antônio" and borders directly on the beautiful beach of Santo André, which not by chance was described by the periodical "Veja" as one of the 13 most exotic in Brazil. Near the beach the pleantly, inviting to ponder Cabana with large fresh water swimming pool. Another pergola on the beach shades our guests. Hamocks, resting chairs and more fold seating are available across the grounds, inviting our guests to ponder.

The waters on the Praia das Tartarugas (Turtle Beach) is subdued, thanks to the reef Recife de Itassimirim and so whith bathing is also suitable for families with children. The beach counts to the most beautiful and exotic in Brazil, not only becaus of the originality but also due to it being almost untouched and undiscovered by the tourist streams.

Thanks to stringent environmental protection, the area could develop a close to nature tourism. We at the Village Mata Encantada follow this idea; e.g. the water heating is operated solely by solar energy and the attendance of the swimming pool is based on UV-light to minimize the use of chlorine as far as possible.

The house has a living area of 160m² (1,720 square foot). On the upper floor there are two generously, upon wish, also air-conditioned suites with a double bed and also two single beds. Each suite has its own bathroom. Standard furnishing naturally includes ceiling ventilators.

On the ground floor, in addition to the kitchen with refrigerator, stove, baking oven, crockery as well as other required utilities, a living and dining room as well as a bath room. The living room is so furnished that two other people could sleep here comfortably.

The house has a television set with 40 international programs.

A large veranda with hammocks, resting chairs seating corner with table completes the furnishing.

Our guests are supplied with bed linen and terry towels free of charge, included in this service is the daily house cleaning. Upon request and for the duration of their stay, we will offer the services of a maid, who will be please to serve you Bahian or international dishes.
