Arsita Country Cottage
The property
Our property is situated 10 minutes outside the hillside village of Arsita. The property consists of two separate houses on 2 hectares of private land. The self catering guest cottage can cater for up to 4 persons. Telephone and internet services are available.
Arsita.
Arsita is a small hillside village in the shadows of the Gran Sasso mountain range and borders the Abruzzo national park. The village is situated in Teramo province in the Abruzzo region of Italy. The population including surrounding farmlands is about eight hundred. Facilities include a bank, two small supermarkets, a pharmacy, garage and post office. There are several small bars and restaurants.
Abruzzo
Abruzzo is situated on the east side of central Italy and includes both the Adriatic coastline and the Apennine Mountains. Abruzzo is about 60% mountainous and 35% hilly. There are three National Parks, a Regional Park, and about thirty Nature Reserves which all together make up a third of Abruzzo’s total area and makes Abruzzo the greenest Region in Europe. The Gran Sasso and Majella are the two highest mountain peaks in the Apennines. Vineyards, Olive Groves and Farms dot the countryside.
You will not find Abruzzo in many tourist guides or travel brochures and remains in general undiscovered by the typical tourist. Herein lies its natural charm and beauty.
Discovering its extraordinary landscapes, strolling through its historic and ancient villages and towns, the visitor will embrace a region that remains untouched by the modern world. Abruzzo is both splendid and unique.
Holiday activities.
Arsita is ideal for a quiet relaxing countryside vacation. The landscape includes stunning snow capped mountain views, river valleys, woodland and forests. The Abruzzo national park and Gran Sasso mountain range are only a thirty minute drive. The Adriatic coastline with its wonderful beaches is an hour’s drive. There are many traditional mountain and hillside villages within easy reach and have delightful historical and architectural interest.
Activities locally include trekking, walking, horse trekking, mountain biking and cycling. Arsita is also ideal for landscape painting. Skiing from December to March is available at Campo Imperatore and is one hours drive from Arsita.
